The teachers from Sumy State University took part in the international conference of the Teacher's Learning Network, under support of UNESCO, held in Aarhus, Denmark. The delegation consisted of Nadiia Kostiuchenko, the Dean of the Teachers Training Faculty, and the Deputy Director of the Oleg Balatsky Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management Denys Smolennikov.

Participation in the conference was possible due to the implementation of a trilateral grant agreement within the SCOPES project  “Enhancing Energy Security by Swiss-Ukrainian- Estonian Institutional Partnership” (valorization grant), financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

100 teachers and educators from 16 countries (Finland, Norway, Sweden, the Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Slovenia, Poland, etc.) attended the conference. The topic of the conference was "Re-thinking of education". Key issues discussed at the conference concerned quality of education, innovative teaching methods and motivation for students and teachers.

The teachers of Sumy State University participated in seminars, presentations, poster sessions, "world cafes", discussions and lectures presented by the key speakers. They had the opportunity to visit the VIA University College – a creative educational space, which greatly combines large study groups, small rooms for students teamwork and self-education, playgrounds, as well as numerous art objects.
