The biggest IT conference in Eastern Europe iForum has recently taken place in Kyiv. This year it gathered 7100 speakers and visitors. The members of Scientific Society of students, post-graduate students, doctoral students and young scientists of Sumy State University took part in the conference.

The conference had 5 thematic directions: ‘Internet Business/ Startups,’ ‘Advertising and Promotion,’ ‘Internet Technologies,’ ‘Education in the Information Age,’ and ‘SVOD Europe Conference/Smart Cities Forum.’ Besides, in the framework of iForum, a ‘smart city’ prototype was presented. Thus, there was a thematic exhibition with the size of 600 square meters where different products in areas of robotics, augmented and virtual reality, smart houses, Internet of Things, digital manufacturing, renewable energy sources, telecommunications, data collection, and data processing were presented. One could literary touch the future. The developments of SSU 3D innovation group were also presented at this stand. Sumy State University was the only Ukrainian university having taken part in this IT conference. Students presented 3D printer, 3D scanner, 3D printed headset for virtual reality, and offered their services in 3D projection, 3D scanning, 3D printing and virtual reality developments (simulators).

‘Our University is presented as a modern and innovative one, constantly proving it to be true. The participation of our team in iForum proves this fact one more time. The developments of SSU 3D innovation group have invoked a great interest during the conference. SSU can offer a lot to amaze IT experts and guests of the conference,’ says the Head of SSU Scientific Society of students, post-graduate students, doctoral students and young scientists Mykhailo Oprysko.

The thematic direction ‘Education in the Information Age’ was presented at iForum for the first time. The creative education for children and adults, the experience of urbanistic transformation in the Ukrainian cities, interaction between universities and business corporations, technological diversity of online education and a lot of other things were discussed in the framework of it. Such topics as ‘How to win trust to technical education in Ukraine,’ ‘Education for cities,’ and also ‘Effective IT education: mass or elitist’ were discussed by the representatives of the most successful companies dealing with IT-education.
