On April 12th, 2016 Sumy State University has presented open online courses ‘Examenarium’ in the Library of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking. During the press-conference SSU Vice-rector Volodymyr Lyubchak and Director of Regional Center of Distance Learning Yurii Zuban told journalists about the uniqueness, main features and relevance of those courses. They’ve noted that it is the first time the Ukrainian university gives a free access to its academic courses.

Everybody interested can get education from the classical university in a convenient format and for free.

Students will choose not an individual course in particular, but a training direction in general. A certificate for successful completing the course will be given. Unlike other online platforms, the results of these courses can be considered during admission of future students to SSU. Today ‘Examenarium’ has 30 majors in 5 training directions, including Economics, Marketing, Management, Law, Finance, Banking and Insurance.

The courses are presented by experienced teachers-masters of online learning technologies, because Sumy State University has been successfully teaching students online for 14 years. ‘Implementation of the project with open access has become possible due to significant experience and profound materials of distance learning, which SSU possesses. All the courses will be supervised by teachers, and the University invests the funds in order to organize such a support. This is a real training for any category of users,’ Volodymyr Lyubchak says.

In Yurii Zuban’s opinion, the concept of open learning, actively used by the world's leading universities, is very popular among consumers of educational services, because university online education makes it possible for anyone, especially for school graduates, to get familiar with quality of learning materials, majors, peculiarities of studying at the university etc.

One of ‘Examenarium’ project’s features is an active participation of SSU students in its implementation. For many years IT-students have been involved in the development of interactive virtual simulators for online courses and their own unique educational platform. The future professionals in advertising have also made a contribution to launching ‘Examenarium’: have come up with the name, created a logo and web-design, promoted the project in social networks.
