Sumy State University student Anastasiia Korotun became the only Ukrainian participant of the International students congress “Investing in Youth for a Sustainable Future”, which took place on 4th-5th of October on the base of International Balkan University in Skopje, Macedonia.

To participate in the congress future translator received the sponsorship from the International Balkan University and Turkish Culture Center in Macedonia. The event gathered 80 students, masters and PhD students from all over the world.

At the congress Anastasiia defeated her research work named “Youth Participation in Peacebuilding. Hate off”, where student reviewed the issue of escalating the conflict and its transformation, revealed the topic of structural and cultural violence and emphasized the importance of youth role in peacebuilding.

Congress participants had a chance to communicate with professors from Macedonia, Turkey, Kosovo, Albania and Italy. Beside the official part, there was a cultural and entertainment program organized: participants got acquainted with the city, traditions, music and food, visited the most prominent sites and plunged into the history of the country.

Its nice to find confederates and even opponents, if its for the benefit of polishing certain idea or direction of search”,- Anastasiia shared her impression.
