Sumy State University student Anastasiia Korotun, major “Translation”, got the grant for participation in the international youth forum “Right to Dialogue: Ethics of Complexity/Complexity of Ethics”, that took place on September 27th-30th in Trieste (Italy). Forum gathered young people from all over the world: Ukraine, Canada, Spain, Georgia, Tunisia, Pakistan, China, India, Romania, Nigeria etc.

Anastasiia performed as a speaker – she presented her research work “Step toward Peace”, which can be found in the booklet of publications of this year forum. Student analysed the mass media influence on the spread of extremist and radical ideologies, associated with a hate speech, and issue of Internet control and the ways to increase the resistance to radicalization.

Forum participants also discussed other important social topic – from protection of human rights to responsible ethical tourism, from economic stability to leadership, from hate speech to cyber security.

“Regarding the forum name – “Right to Dialogue”, I want to note, that within the dialogue the abilities of hearing and listening are of the same importance. This forum became the place where youth from all over the world had an opportunity to hear one another, support, disagree, object, express an opinion, the vision of the problem, be in another person’s shoes, compare, make conclusions, but reach consensus anyways. Nothing inspires better for new achievements and changes for better as the sparkle in the eyes of these young people and their contribution to society development”,- Anastasiia commented on her participation in the forum.
