On October 5th -10th, the scientists of Sumy State University took part in the final events within the implementation of the international grant project "ALIGN: Achieving and checking the alignment between academic programmes and qualification frameworks" of EU Tempus Programme.

On October 5th, an open dissemination meeting with the participation of Ukrainian and European partners of the project took place at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The event was attended by about 70 participants from 35 universities allover Ukraine: university representatives, who are responsible for ensuring the quality of education and organizational and methodological support of educational activities, as well as representatives of international departments. The purpose of the meeting was to present the main stages of the project implementation and the obtained results, insight into the procedures for assessing the quality of educational programs in accordance with the requirements of international accreditation, presenting the best practices of internal and external evaluation of educational programs with a background of European and Ukrainian project partners, presentation of the developed materials.

The audience was interested in a joint presentation by Paul Hyland, professor at the Bath Spa University, Great Britain, and David Quinn, Professor of the Institute of Arts, Design and Technology (Ireland). European experts in assessing the quality of educational programmes emphasized the main approaches to quality education, shared the experience of internal and external evaluation of educational programmes, provided recommendations for their improvement in their report.

All participants of the meeting received materials developed within the project: "National recommendations for the coordination of educational programmes with qualifications framework" and "National report on revision of educational programmes within the project "ALIGN "of the EU Tempus programme.

On October 6th , the final working meeting was held at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The aim of the conference was to present the academic programmes of Ukrainian universities-partners of the project, which had passed the evaluation procedures in the project, a review of the recommendations received from external experts and changes that were introduced at the university level and academic programme levels based on the results of expert visits.

The Ukrainian partners of the project were able to communicate with European partners and get recommendations on improving the internal quality assurance systems and the quality of academic programs, as well as discuss opportunities for further cooperation with European universities.

On October 10th , Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences hosted a final conference that brought together all project partners and aimed at presenting key achievements and panel discussions with the involvement of European experts. The topics of the meeting were the sustained influence of the results of the ALIGN project implementation on the higher education system, mating of higher education with labor market requirements, learning outcomes and their functions for the development of higher education institutions in Europe in the context of internationalization and institutional changes and best practices. In addition, the participants discussed an action plan to ensure the sustainability of project results and opportunities for further cooperation.
