Sumy State University – in TOP-5 of the best HEIs of Ukraine according to the QS World University Rankings 2020

On June 19th the new QS World University Rankings results for 2019/20 were published. Sumy State University has strengthened its position entering the TOP-5 of the best higher education institutions of Ukraine and moved up to a category 701-750 in a world ranking.

On June 7th-9th ship modelling international competition - IV Tenshock CUP Lesznowola 2019 took place in Warsaw (Poland). 50 representatives from Italy, Denmark, Romania, Germany, Ukraine, Poland took part in the competition.

European HEI put a high value on cooperation with SumDU at the meeting in Uppsala, Sweden

Sumy State University joined the international project “Two steps: Internationalization in practice – Sweden, Ukraine, Belarus” under the sponsorship of The Baltic University Programme. The project is dedicated to enhancement of internationalization in higher education institutions, and international networking among universities of Ukraine, Sweden and Belarus. Also, the project is oriented to representatives of international affairs departments and internationalization departments.

On May 14th Sumy State University held the discussion regarding the national capability with the participation of Ambassadors of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia in Ukraine.

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Estonia in Ukraine Gert Antsu, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Lithuania in Ukraine Marius Janukonis, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Latvia in Ukraine Juris Poikāns communicated with students, teachers, city public figures. The discussion participants shared thoughts regarding the factors influencing the capability of nation’s restoration, adaptation, functioning and positive development during negative and crisis situations, and learned the experience of Baltic countries in forming of citizens’ trust to state institutions, country’s foreign policy course, development of media literacy as a part of information security etc. The event was participated by more than 100 attendees.

Such communication format took place on the initiative of the Head of Regional Security Research Center of Sumy State University Mykola Nazarov and Executive Director of the International Center of Defence and Security Dmytro Teperyk, in whose opinion the national capability is developing right in regions, and civil society is its source. Dmytri Teperyk presented for the discussion participants the program “Stable Ukraine” that operates with support of the Ministry of International Affairs of Estonia and aimed at the development of cooperation between Estonia and Ukraine in security sector.
