SSU students – participants of international summer school

The international summer science school commenced its work for the students of three universities: 15 students and postgraduates from Sumy State University and Sumy National Agrarian University and 5 from Czech University of Natural Sciences. The school started off within the implementation of the joint project with Czech University of Natural Sciences “The strengthening of building capacity process in the sphere of education quality and scientific research in SSU and SNAU”.

SSU students won medals on the Junior Judo Cups in Europe

Junior European Judo Cup matches were held on July 14th-15th, in the Paks (Hungaria). More than three hundred athletes from Europe, Oceania, Asia and America took part in the competition. Among the Ukrainian athletes were students of Sumy State University.

SSU scientist joined the development of a European regulatory environment for the integrity of research activities

The first online meeting for the representatives of the Research Integrity Task Force, which was created under the auspices of the European Council of PhD students and young scientists (EURODOC) was held in the beginning of July. The group is an international federation and consists of 32 national associations of PhD students and young scientists from the European Union and the Council of Europe.

SSU students received awards at the Open Cup of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Judo Team Championship

On July 1st-12th, the Athletics Complex of SSU hosted the "line fight" competitions of the Open Cup of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Judo Team Championship. About three hundred athletes from all over Ukraine, as well as from Israel, Georgia and Azerbaijan, took part in the competitions. Winners in fourteen weight categories among women and men will represent the national team of Ukraine at the World Championship.

On June 12th-15th the SSU Congress Center welcomed international conference “DESIGN, SIMULATION, MANUFACTURING: THE INNOVATION EXCHANGE”. The event took place under the slogan “Together we can do more for science, technologies, engineering and education!” and allowed scientists from 11 countries of the world to exchange innovations.

DSMIE-2018 is the first in Ukraine international forum for fundamental and applied research and industrial applications in manufacturing. This forum is organized by the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies of the SSU (department of technology of mechanical engineering of machine tools, general mechanics and dynamics of machines, processes and equipment of chemical and oil refining industries) under the patronage of Prof. Anatoliy Vasylyev, Rector of Sumy State University and Dr. Oleksandr Gusak, Dean of the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies of SSU, together with the Technical University of Kosice (Slovak Republic), Technological University of Kielce (Poland), West Czech University (Czech Republic), Association of innovative production technologies promotion (Croatia).

In the beginning the conference participants were welcomed with hello message by SSU Vice-Rector for scientific work, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Anatoliy Chornous and the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Nasosenergomash Sumy” Oleksandr Kovtun.

The event focuses on a broad range of research challenges in the fields of Manufacturing, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, addressing current and future trends in design approaches, simulation techniques, computer-aided systems, software development, ICT tools and Industry 4.0 strategy implementation for engineering tasks solving.

In general, in the conference were heard 55 reports prepared 11 countries’ representatives. The conference program committee was made up of experts from 17 countries presenting 41 scientific institution of North America, Europe and Asia.

- The result of the conference is not only scientific work, but also new projects initiation with foreign partners, in particular we will develop academic mobility with Croatia within the EU Erasmus+ programme. Poland, Slovak Republic and Czech Republic – our longtime partners. By the end of the year we have to implement joint international project with Czech Republic. Besides, a new application for Ukrainian-Czech cooperation in scientific sphere has been submitted. We are working together with Slovakia for more than 5 years,- in more detail about SSU cooperation with some partners said Head of the conference, Associate Professor of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Machines and Tools Vitalii Ivanov.

Among invited speakers – scientists from leading universities of Poland, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, and representatives of industrial enterprises:

  4. Slawomir Luscinski – assistant of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Management and Computer Simulation, Technological University of Kielce, Poland;
  5. Dmytro Kryvoruchko, Professor of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Machines and Tools of Sumy State University, Head of Technological Initiative Center, Ukraine;
  6. Jan Pitel – Deputy Dean of Development and External Relations of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies, Technical University of Kosice, Slovak Republic;
  7. Eugene Kozhukhovskyy – Founder and CEO of LLC “Smartprint”, Ukraine;
  8. Mykola Kiryukhin – President of the Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations of Ukraine.

The conference materials were issued in Springer publishing house.
