American university professor will lecture in SSU

Professor Joseph Kush from the Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the USA will work in Sumy State University for ten months. Professor will offer his learning experience to the students of the Department of Germanic Philology, focusing on evaluation and psychometrics.

Two projects with participation of SSU won the EU ERASMUS+ programme: The capacity building in higher education

European Commission announced the results of 2018 contest in the course of “The capacity building in higher education” within the EU ERASMUS+ Programme. In general there were 6 projects selected with Ukrainian representatives, among which were 2 projects with participation of Sumy State University.

CONFINTEA VI Mid-Term Review 2017 «The Power of Adult Learning: Vision 2030» was held October 25th -27th in Suwon, South Korea. Yuriy Petrushenko, the head of the Center “Education for Life” took part in the conference. More than 400 participants from about 100 countries took part in the conference.

The proclamation of Incheon Declaration was a result of the conference. The new UNESCO recommendation includes 3 main spheres of lifelong learning: literacy and basic skills; lifelong learning and advanced training; educational and training opportunities for active citizenship, aimed at involving people in solving a wide range of social problems.

The strategic programme of lifelong learning development, which was presented and discussed at the conference, was recognized as the one of the Millennium Development Goals for Sustainable Development. It is aimed towards inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning for all. Incheon Declaration 2030 provides guidelines for governments and partners how to implement their duties into action.

The Head of the Department of International Economics of the Research Institute of Business Technologies “Ukrainian Academy of Banking” Yuriy Petrushenko took part in several working sections of the conference, namely, "Development of the adult education centers all-over the world", "Strengthening civic engagement through the education", "Quality of educational programmes for adult education".
